Before publishing results, check the candidate roster, subjects, full marks, absence status, submitted marks and approved grading rules. Completed entry and approved results are separate states. Resolve exceptions with a responsible reviewer before releasing results through the institution’s chosen process.

This is an administrative checklist. It does not replace a board’s grading policy. Confirm applicable rules with the relevant current authority.

Confirm the examination structure first

Identify the examination’s session, candidate list, subjects and responsible teachers. Define full marks and any required components before entry begins. A subject that does not apply to a student is different from absence in an applicable subject.

Area Check Responsibility
Candidates Correct session and examination list Office or coordinator
Subjects Full marks and applicable components Examination lead
Marks Valid range and unfinished entries Subject teacher
Absence Distinct from a score of zero Responsible teacher
Result Approved grading rules Reviewer
Publication Authorization and recipient scope Publication owner

Look for exceptions after marks arrive

Inspect missing entries, values outside the permitted range, marks against absent candidates and records submitted to the wrong examination. Do not fill an unfinished field with zero by assumption. Define who receives each exception and when it should be reviewed.

For fictional student DEMO-032, a Bengali score may be entered while mathematics remains blank. Keep mathematics visible as unfinished work. If a teacher confirms absence, record the appropriate status under the institution’s rules. Those cases should not silently become the same value.

Handle corrections deliberately

Check that an authorized person can record a correction with its reason. If results have already been released, define how revised information will be approved and communicated. Replacing a screenshot alone does not complete the correction process.

Reconcile a sample result manually

Select a few fictional candidates. Compare subject entries with their source records, calculate the expected result using approved rules and match it against the report. Check the student’s identity, examination and session before approving any difference.

Also test a historical result after the student has moved to another class. The old examination should retain its own context rather than silently adopting the current class.

Use examination management, student records and reporting to prepare the demonstration.

Frequently asked questions

Is an empty mark the same as zero?

No. An empty field can mean unfinished or unsubmitted work, while zero is a specific score. Keep the meaning clear under the institution’s policy.

Can generated results be published immediately?

Check sample calculations, candidate identities and exceptions first. Separating preparation from approval helps staff catch mistakes before release.

Which class should appear on an old result after promotion?

It needs the examination’s historical class and session context. Open a previous report after changing the current class to test that behavior.
